PS Action for text layers
I'm sort of new to using Photoshop Actions. What I'd like to do is make an action that changes the blending mode of 100% black text to multiply.
Is this possible?

Can you be more specific? To Automate this would need at least a constancy in layer names, or some constancy somewhere at least...

We have a customer who designed a 68 page book in Photoshop (is that a record?). Most of the text is 100% black. I can make it output as vector ok, but the text knocks-out of the background. I'd like the black text to overprint the background. Apparently the only way to make this work is to change the blending mode of the text layer to "Multiply".
Right now there really is no consistency in the layer names. And I don't want every text layer to be set to Multiply. Some text is color and I don't want it to overprint the background.

68 separate Photoshop layered files? 8O
I've seen more than that many layers in one file, but never that many files.
Just record yourself setting one file, however you need to select and if each page isn't built the same exact way it won't work. If it were me I'd PDF the whole thing into one PDF and correct it in Acrobat with Pit Stop Pro.

Yeah, I tried that. I learned some interesting things about text in Photoshop pdfs. The textlines have no fill. They seem to act as a clipping path for a raster area behind the text. It's that raster area which holds the color of the text. So trying to overprint black text with Pitstop has no effect (I'm still using Pitstop 6; maybe it works in 7?).

Set the black text layer to multiply in Photoshop. That way it's a virtual overprint.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say in the first post. I was looking for a way to automate it.

No. See above (about crazy Photoshop text with its rasterized fill color). Try dissecting a Photoshop pdf and see what I mean.
