Smart Vector Objects Rasterising

I have PS CS2. I Have a file with type, vector shapes and a smart object from Illustrator.
I save as a Photoshop PDF and the type and vector shapes are sharp vectors in the pdf but the smart object is looking jagged and rasterised. I have looked for a 'Include vector data' box to check but there isn't one that I can find. I presume smart objects from Illy are supposed to remain vectors in the resultant pdf.

It's in a second dialog box that comes up after you hit the save button.

Thanks Alamink for this. I can see the problem is that I'm not getting this dialogue box presenting itself. Photoshop is going straight on to the Save Adobe PDF box and skipping the PDF Options box. Any help?

The save box is the first box, after you click the save button the box I post should show up, if it doesn't I would trash your Photoshop preference file.

Almaink, thats the PSCS save box... PSCS2 (at least on windows) has a different PDF save box. That option simply isn't there anymore. Vector data should always be saved automatically now, with no option to rasterize during save.

smart object will always default to raster.

apperantly the only way to keep the vector file is to copy and paste (or import for that matter), paths from illustrator to photoshop.

there is some work involved.

may i ask why you need to place the vector in photoshop rather than illu or indy?

cheers, dimitri

Hello Dimitri
I am just experimenting with vectors and smart objects in Photoshop to see what happens.

let us know the outcome,

i played around a bit today with it, and as you say, all photoshop vectors stay, and all smart object convert to pixel.

shame, but then again, i never work with vector in photoshop.

cheers, dimitri
