CS2 extremly slow bridge even slower

any thought on CS2 yet. I have it on my G5, blah blah installed, and it is much slower than previous versions. open a complex indy document is painfull, there are some advantages, but very slow i have to say.
photoshop does some weird things sometimes, like leaving photoshop and going back to the finder when i copy something.

the bridge is also not very helpfull, when i try to navigate to a folder on the server it takes ages for every layer. click on a folder and wait for a minute to get to the next level.
sure i could drag from the finder the folder straight into the favorites, (what i am doing now), but that's not how it is intended.

any thoughts?
cheers, dimitri

Hi Dimitri,

Yes, we are finding the same thing on our PCs. CS2 is choking them. (To be fair, they're not the most up-to-date machines in the universe, but they're only 12 months old, and should hold their own.)

I've given up, and have reverted to Photoshop 5.5 for most things, only opening CS2 when I need a particular feature. However, most of my colleagues are persevering with CS2.

Damo.

I've seen this bitch in other forums and the only thing I can offer is this link:
http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/332270.html

I've read through it and adjusted a few of these item in my version. One thing I refuse to do is work across the net. I always copy (or move) the files I need to my local hard drive and work from there. The reason being is that with a net work you never know the integrity of the other machines and or anyone else that may be accessing the server or other machines in the LAN.

I've never used "benchmarks" to determine how fast every version of Photoshop is, but I'll tell you this, I love CS2. If it takes me several minutes to copy a 600+ mg folder on to the local drive no prob. I always need another cup of coffee. and when I launch PS and open a file, it takes only seconds to open 30+ mg eps files.
