Dark (black) shirt to Light (white)

Anyone have a good workable system for cc-ing garments from very dark to white or light? Lotsa trial and error here, just wondering if anyone has a good system of attack.

tia,

I usually end up with a channel mix, then a couple adjustment layers to tweak it were i want it to be.

Sorry, there is no "easy" method of changing black to white that i know of. I believe this is one of the most challenging cc to make, and have it look natural.

Anybody else??

Re: Dark (black) shirt to Light (white)

I think everyone would agree this is very challenging. Channel mix is a hidden secret that not a lot of people use. When I am faced with bright colors, I find it best to neutralize the color first. Use whatever method you want. I typically use my paint brush set to "color mode". My palette is set to any number of neutral combinations. The idea is to pull the unwanted color out without losing detail. Think of it as an "additive" move instead of a subtractive one. You're basically making a GCR/UCR move. After that, I play with the Hue/Saturation and Level controls. Good Luck!
