Photoshop keywords

Is there a way to edit keywords of a Photoshop eps without actually having to open it, edit the File Info, and save it? I thought maybe there would be a 3rd party utility or something. We have hundreds of images in Extensis Portfolio. We need to change and add keywords, but the problem is that we'll be moving the entire database and images to a different server. The last time we did this, we lost the keywords that had been edited within Portfolio, so we want the keywords to stick with the Photoshop files.

You can just use the file browser for individual images without opening the image.
If you want to assign the same keywords to multiple images at the same time.....
Open file browser in Photoshop.
Choose file info for just one image.
enter your keywords in the file info box.
choose Save Metadata Template from the top right button, then close out the box.
Go back to file browser and select the images that you want to go along with those words.
Choose Edit-Append Metadata by choosing the metadata template that you just saved from the one image earlier.
All those images you just selected and appended the metadata to will now have the same words in their respective file info boxes.

Photoshop keywords

Thanks for the info Wally. I believe this shortcut will do the trick. I searched high and low in Photoshop 7, didn't think to look at Photoshop CS!

Maybe some supersearch utility able to do some GREP Unix-like... They are usually Open Source, so it's worth the while trying.
