Ooooohhhhh I like that question. How would you use Pitktor with ICF workflows?

Piktor - ICF

In the Piktor Demo under hot folders is the Naming Scheme - choose "Impoe Set" and you will get *.icf and *.assg as the file types. Sounds like Preps/Brisque to me. Or maybe an icf right from Preps? I have the demo only - no ver. 3.0 instructions.

Are you looking to buy it for this kind of workflow?

Piktor?

I am looking for a Contact type proof out of the Brisque ICF workflow. Anything the Brisque exports from ICF is knocked down to 4/c before it leaves. An eps, PDF, etc. are all raster 4/c. Big files with no spots! I know there are some other more expensive programs that will pull the HiRes files needed for the ICF right off the Brisque and make a multi color file (ct/lw, PDF, etc.) I hate to have to change my whole worklow to fat postscript from preps. Just looking for the best, cost efective solution.

Piktor

Found out that Piktor will do the Brisque ICF workflow - but only in OEM versions. Back to the search!

I remember a few years and a few shops ago we had a trial hasp for tiff/it files through Rampage.

I think? :?

Does anyone else know about that?
If I remember correctly it cost an arm and both legs.

I remember there used to be a free Photoshop plug-in available for Tiff/It files. It opened the CT file up just fine but you needed lots and lots of RAM to open the LW half. Most of the time it would error out with an out of memory error unless it was a very small file. This was back in the day of Photoshop 4 where 256 MB of memory was considered a lot. At one time Tiff/It was considered to be the file of choice to send to printers but PDF emerged and pretty much killed it off.
