Photoshop CS issue

I'm running a G5 with OSX and I recently installed Adobe Creative Suite. All of the apps run beautifully, except for photoshop cs. When I try to start photoshop, i get an error saying that there is missing personalization information and that i have to re-install. So I have tried reinstalling it with no luck. Any ideas?

here's a link to a PS troubleshooing page

http://www.gballard.net/psd/troubleshootpurgepsd.html

you could try this...

Trashing Preferences:

If you're trying to rule out Photoshop corruption or reset Default settings, FIRST try trashing:

HardDrive> User> Library> Preferences> Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Settings folder.
HardDrive> User> Library> Preferences> com.adobe.Photoshop.plist file.
There are several other Photoshop preferences there you may trash.

Relaunch Photoshop.
If the problem has not cleared, Mac OS 10, Trash the following (and reinstall Photoshop):

HardDrive> Applications> Adobe Photoshop 7/CS folder.
HardDrive> User> Library> Preferences> Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Settings folder.
HardDrive> User> Library> Preferences> com.adobe.Photoshop.plist file.

Reinstall Photoshop.
Run all Photoshop Updaters adobe.com.

wow...worked like a charm.

It still bothers me that I should have to go through all that trouble to get such an expensive app up and running.

Heh, when I went to install the update ere at the shop, the alias on the CD was linked incorrectly & it would not, under any circumstances, install from the CD! I was 20 minutes into a call with Adobe Support when we realized the nature of the problem.

I think I had to copy the installer to the HD and run from there to get it working. So much for quality control! :P
