Updating images

Does is annoy anyone else that Freehand feels the need to update images every single time you open a document? Have this 24 page book that takes about 15 minutes to open each time..

arrrrrgh

Are you linking them manually each time you open the document? I usually place the Freehand eps file in the same folder as the picture files and Freehand will find all of them. If they are in seperate folders, Freehand wants you to link each file every time that you open up the document.

no..freehand automatically finds them..

it just goes through this whole process of updating imported images, doesn't matter if anything has been changed or not..

Takes forever on a document with a hundred tif files.

That's one reason that I shy away from Freehand. It does seem to take forever to open some documents. I also dislike how when you export an eps, from page 1-1, you still end up with all of the Freehand pages in your eps, waste of time and space.

Update imported images

Nice to know I'm not the only one exasperated by this quirk of Freehand. I thought it was just me. Drives you nuts waiting all day for a file to open because it's got squillions of imported images in it, and it insists on updating every one even though they have been updated. I've got version 10. Does this happen in other version?

I haven't checked Freehand MX, but i'm assuming it does..

it is frustrating to wait for a file to open..especially when a client is standing behind you
