Anyone know about any CAD software?
How hard or easy is it to make a PDF from a CAD file?
A local surveyor here says he can't make PDF's from his CAD software,
I find that hard to believe.

I think what they are telling you is correct.
The few CAD files we get are .dwx and (I forget) but there is another kind of extension.

We just open them up in Illustrator and save out from there.

Are you talking about 3D CAD files (architectural renderings) or 2D files (this is what we get like in die files and such)?

Not sure....whatever architechts and surveyors use.

I'd say it's not that he can't, just that he doesn't know how. Ask him if he can print to file, then distill that ps file. Or have him save as dwg or dxf and open it in Illy.
