Pagemaker 7 not opening files after installing IDCS2

I receive Pagemaker files from a client on a monthly basis. They've all opened up fine in Pagemaker 7 when I also have InDesign CS on my PC. However, after installing InDesign CS2 on my computer, Pagemaker is unable to open the supplied files.

Is there some sort of conflict or are files being overwritten with the installation of InDesign CS2?

The problem with this client is that they don't always give us... correct... hard copy and I know that if I open it up in Pagemaker that what I see in the application is what they really want regardless of the hard copy. I'm afraid of IDCS2 converting something or turning an oblique into a regular version of a font (just as an example) and having to contact the client again for confirmation.

Any advice (other than tossing out the client's outdated desk calendars and computer applications) would be appreciated 8)

Pagemaker files are troublesome when opeing them w using InDesign. I understand you can't use PM to open them natively and don't understand that myself but I do know that Pagemaker files don't always format the same inside Indesign as they do in Pagemaker, that is why we have started requirng all (or as many as we can get)Pagemaker files to include a PDF.
If I have a PDF and the Pagemaker file I can usually make a working ID file, I just need the PDF for reference or to pull graphics from if the graphics have been "embedded" into the PM document (my favorite)

Sorry this doesn't answer your question but hopefully the soluton will help you.
