Thanks for the info.

Pitstop is how I'm fixing it now, but they have some vignettes and stuff and logos and all kinds of things in there and if I can get them to build it correctly then it will make my life slightly easier.

They used to use Quark, Illustrator and P'shop so the logos and vignettes I can pickup from when it was editable, but if they ever change their design and start to use different logos and vignettes then we wouldn't be able to make it PMS.

If I can get them to build it correctly, then it makes us look good by helping them out and in return they may bring more business our way.
I'm a firm believer in fixing client's files to be correct, but also showing them how to do it correctly.

That whole teach a man to fish thing.

Thanks.

So they used to use Quark, Illustrator and P'shop and they switched to Publisher? I think I see the real problem there.

They used the normal Quark, Illy and Photoshop, but I believe they switched designers, at least that's the only thing I can figure out.

They are a publication who only prints with us a few times a year, it's a simple 8.5 x11 trifold - 2 color brochure.

It's a religious organization also, so I'm guessing that they are saving a few dollars by going with a cheaper or possibly donated service by a designer.

The sales lady is adamant about charging them extra for the work we have to do to get it right, so maybe they will see the change orders pile up and get someone in there who knows what they are doing.

Until then, I'll keep charging them if they don't produce good files, but I wanted to alert them to the fact that PMS in Publisher is possible, or they could build it as Cyan and Magenta.
