Barcode Pro 6.0 and Tiger

One of my workmates has a copy of Barcode Pro 5.05 on Tiger (OS X etc.) and it apparently doesn't open existing code files from previous versions, and in general doesn't work well. I used the "Convert..." route to get a previous code file open. But after converting it and double-clicking it, no window came up. It took several tries to get a window to come up and then no bar code showed up, either.

My co-worker would like to know if the new version 6.0 is working any better in Tiger than version 5.05 and if it is even worth the upgrade effort.

Thanks!

T-Rex

Using 5.05

we currently use 5.05 with Panther without problems. Although we normally do not open the files generated in bar code pro, we use illustrator to open and copy and paste them into what ever we need, or a few times we have placed the actual eps generated into quark or indesign. I'm interested to know why you need to open them up again? And if the Tiger upgrade has an issue with it.

Barcode Pro 6.0 and Tiger

I will have to get back to you on that reason, tj. It would seem to me very easy to generate a new code from scratch anyway, so why bother? I only see her on Monday's however.

But I have even tried to use a template from version 4 something and that was never recognized. ...Or do you need to convert a template file too?

Not YET!

No we don't need to convert anything - YET! - You know how that is, I'll probably need 25 or so in 20 mins from now....I just wanted to keep tuned in looking ahead for any problems, with the ingredient information on our labels needing to be updated, if we need to regenerate all new ones for some reason, just wanted to be prepared is all.
