OS X Address Book | Mail app.

This is a 2 part question.
#1 What are you guys/girls using for email - and pros & cons.
#2 I think my address book is broken. Can I fix it? Just drag and drop from another Workstation, or go to the Install DVD?
We use Apple's Mail here. I like it. No complaints. I use it at home too of-course.

Entourage is awfully nice! I love the integration of its projects, contacts, email and calendaring.

You should be able to grab Address Book from another workstation. But it is probably the database for Address Book that is causing the problem. You should be making periodic backups of it though

Mozilla Thunderbird <-------- It's *really* good stuff!

Entourage is what I use at work. It's pretty darn slick and makes internal emails awesome. Scheduling and notifications from the bossman pop up.
Thunderbird is pretty slick too but it crashed on me a lot but that was version 1.0 and a few revs after that. I still liked it better than Apple Mail.
Apple Mail I use at home but it's not very taxing with what emails I get there.

If I had to choose, I'd prefer Entourage.

As far as getting your address book to work, no clue man. If all else fails, try using bbedit to hack into it and see if there's anything worthwhile to extract.

That's what I was looking for. I have Entourage on my Mac - home & work, but I've never even launched it. I work with a few folks (out of the office) that all use Thunderbird - they rave about it. Time to check out my options.

OK - I've been running Entourage for about 25 minutes.
Seamless conversion from Mail.
You are both right.. it's sweet. Had this bad-boy all along and never knew it. Time to check out Thunderbird.

Is your address book hanging when you try to open it or edit it? Mine was doing that and I discovered you need the font Helvetica.dfont active on the system to use address book. Try that.

Still think I'll consider Entourage as a replacement. It's got some really nice features... I've had it loaded for years, never even looked at it.

Yeah, I avoided Entourage for awhile because of the MS factor. They actually did something right for once. Crazy eh?
