New G5 with Tiger 10.5

I bought 2 new G-5's with the latest Tiger updates.
I have run them both for 3 weeks flawlessly...This morning I booted one of them and the machine gets all the way to the desktop and stops. Nothing but a magnifying glass in the upper right corner and the pointer. I have tried deleting the Finder prefs and have run a permissions repair with no luck. Any thoughts????

Reboot in Safe Mode by holding down the Shift Key "after" you hear the chime. This will take longer to boot up because the Mac will go through a sort of system check and permissions fix. After you're booted in Safe Mode then trash what's in your trash folder (if anything). Reboot and you should be all set to go.

Yah, we get that a few times a month also & AppleJack seems to clear it up. Install it just in case, some day - it could just save your life. 8)

I see that every once in a while. It is a corrupt cache. Delete the contents in Library->Caches->com.apple.ATS and that will take care of it.

applejack will delete that automatically with its cache cleaner... i think.
