Yes I am getting that with illy and Acrobat ####.tmp

This happens due to the way some Adobe applications are saving files. For example, you create a new document and save it as "File.ai". Then, after making a few changes, you hit Command-S to save it again. What's happening is that first, Illustrator makes a copy of the original file and names it something like "Acro879834.tmp", just to give it a unique name. It then saves the new file over top of the old one. If for some reason the power were to go out, etc. while it was overwriting the original file, the file could be left in an incomplete and damaged state. That's why a copy of the original file is saved temporarily, just in case. Once the file is successfully saved, Illustrator is supposed to delete the "Acro879834.tmp" file. However, it's unable to do so because Spotlight is indexing the content of that file so that it's in use. While some consider this a problem with Spotlight, it's really Illustrator that should be saving the temporary file as an invisible file, or otherwise configure it so that Spotlight won't index it at all.
Spotlight indexes the files because they're PDF files, which has an importer for it. One option to prevent the .tmp files from being created, at least for Illustrator, is to uncheck the option to make the .ai file PDF-compatible. Since Adobe hasn't provided an mdimporter plugin for any of their files, an Illustrator file won't be indexed.
Another possibility is to name the folder that contains the .ai file in a special way so that Spotlight won't look inside of it to index the files it contains. If you end the folder's name with ".noindex" or ".build", Spotlight shouldn't look inside of it. For example name the folder "vector art.noindex".
Another possibility is to add the path to the file(s) you're working on to the Privacy pane in the Spotlight preference pane in System Preferences.
Or, you could just delete the files manually.
Hope this helps....
