Tiger problems

Recently my scripts in IDCS2 quit working just get the beachball. I'm using OS X 10.4.3.

Seems like this may have happened after I started using the freeware Onyx to do maintenance tasks. Onyx did wonders for my older Panther Mac at home but I don't think it did much for my Tiger at work.

I figure I'll have to reformat because I'm experiencing other problems with the OS but hoping to wait it out until the next upgrade to OS X.

Any Ideas? My scripts save me a lot of time and mistakes.

Well my scripts work if I'm logged in as another user. I've experienced this problem with distiller crashes as one user works great as another.

No the latest Apple Update didn't fix anything. My scripts will run if activated outside of IDCS2. Seems to be a problem with double clicking the script inside the Scripts Pallete.
The only thing I'm losing is the Dialog Box to set properties that runs inside IDCS2.

(Im sure you have ,but)
have you checked this support from adobe?
www.adobe.com/products/indesign/scripting.html
It sounds like it could be a user permissions error in the os, If you can use your other account without error -
have you verified & repaired permissions?
deleted idcs2 prefrences?

Seems like this problem happened right around the time I was customizing which plug-ins were on and off.

Although I did go back and activate all plug-ins didn't fix.

Where do you delete Indesign Preferences At?

Thanks for the help!!

You need to sling

com.adobe.InDesign.plist

You'll find it in ~/library/preferences

or just do a search for the above file

Trashed the IDCS preference file.

Scripts are still not wanting to run through the script pallete in IDCS2.

I could switch users I guess but all my jobs are inside the documents folder of the current user. figure I'll have to change the permissions on all these jobs if I want to use them as a different user. That's something I really don't want to do but dang this problem really put a stump in my workflow.

The scripts stilll work with IDCS so my thinking is that it's a problem specific with IDCS2.

:x

it's probably a corrupted user pref... I'm not sure which one it would be. I'll poke around and see if I can get it a little closer on the guess.
