HELP!! System

Help@@ Linotype (me) accidently removed,and trashed some system fonts, and now my MAC will not restart! What do I do?

I did the same thing a year or so back! I was able to boot up in Classic (hold option key while booting in my case) - went into the folders of OSX from there and fix the fonts. Don't remeber the details but I was so relieved to have that classic still on there. Can do the same from a CD or any other system drive.

Boot from Mac original disk cd/dvd and use terminal to copy missing fonts to your system/library/fonts folder.

Let me guess "Lucida Grande" was deleted :x Learn your lesson?

Go with the original OS system for fonts, if it has a "City" name leave it like New York, Geneva, Chicago, etc. Also since OS X Lucida Grande is the default boot font that the OS needs to display anything. If you delete it ... well you found out what happens.

Do as zox suggests boot from install disk and copy the Lucida Grande back into the System folder.
