Folders tip instead of opening on server

his problem just started. Expample: in a page layout program i.e. quark/indesign when i go to place or get picture the default location goes to my user documents folder even though under FINDER>pref. i have it set to a server. also when trying to place a pic i navigate out to the server i can only use colum view, when i am in list view and double click on a folder it only tips the folder and i can't seem to get inside of it. any help would be appreciated ...

Yeah, it'll either go to your user folder or the last place you got an image from.
As far as the list view goes, you should be able to see your server volume on the side pane (if you have it set to see the server) and you should be able to navigate out and back to where you need to go from there.
I agree, PITA.

the problem is not seeing the server or navigating to it. normally you can go out to a server double click on a folder and it will open and you you will be inside of that folder. My problem is i double click and the folder tips on the server and i can not get inside of the folder.

What OS you got?

how are you connected to your server? AFP or SMB?

It may be a Tiger thing. I don't have Tiger myself, I'm still running Panther (10.3.9). I've heard that some Tiger users have difficulty connecting to and using the server, especially with some Adobe products.

maybe someone else who has tiger can help you on this.

sorry, not much help,
David
