Hiding folders

Does anyone know a way to hide non system folders is OS X 10.3. I have several Win 2000 folder mounted to my desktop, and I would like to hide some of the folders in them. I tried putting the ".' before the name, but it errors out. Thanks

Have you tried from within Win2K to select "properties" of the target folder and turn off sharing there. This may not "hide" the foler but will not allow access to them while in OS X.

Sparky is on the right track R, it's all about permissions on the win2k side. This has to be done on the win2k server so you will need to have administrator priviledges. Go to users and groups in computer management on the pc and do it from there. If it's a folder that you don't want to appear at all then on the win2k server do not create a macintosh share for the folder. If it is something where you only want certain clients to access it you can do it one of two ways - create a group on the win2k server and put only those who you want to have access in it or create individual folders on your root level and complete which users can see these folders and what permissions they have.

Thanks for all of the help. I found out the folders that I am seeing are not from my server. They are generated by Sherlock running on my G4 (OS 9.2). I have not found a way to hide them, but I am going to upgrade the rest of my machines to OS X once my new ones are online without any major glitches. Thanks
