OK, Back on topic, well nearly.
Down the boozer later this evening an aquaitanc of mine was raving about a way to speed up Safari. Already pretty nippy as browsers go.
He mentioned a preference you can alter to remove the delay built into Safari when loading a page. He's running Safari 2.
I had to point out that while that line in the .plist can be modified it doesn't make any difference and will be overwritten by the default at the next launch.

??? I dont have time to research and look for the answer, but these are good questions... Im not a web/server kinda guy, so Im not sure of the answers but
"logically" it seems to me the answer to both would be yes.

I'm not sure it is a yes. All your asking for is a page, it's a normal page request. This is dictated more by the servers ability to deliver the page rather than your browsers ability to display it. Hack your browser all you like, it won't speed up the server you're connecting to.
I'll look into this a little more today.
