Anybody into Music/Live shows?
Wondering what kind of music my fellow prepress people listen to.
Old or new or both?

The better question for me would be what music DON'T I listen to.
My primary preference in general is 80s-90s Alternative. I stopped listening to the alternative stations here when the music started to sound more like rap.
I'll listen to classical, boroque, jazz, blues, classic rock, classical guitar, modern folk, just about anything.
I'm not much into rap, country or banjo music.
I like live music only when it isn't with a huge crowd. So I usually go to see smaller venues.

Jalan's on the money here... what DONT I listen to. Country. That's it.
(that's not fair, I like some older country. Jonny Cash. Hank Sr etc etc)
I honestly am a Hip Hop child. I love it, I relate to the streets.
I was raised a poor black child... -Steve Martin The Jerk
but I also LOVE Phish, Primus, Miles Davis, Sly & and the Family Stone, Grateful Dead, John Scofield, The Lazybirds, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Thelonius Monk, Earth, Wind & Fire, ELO("Time" might the the greatest album ever-technically speaking), Traveling Wilburys, just to name a few.
in my spare time(whenever that is) I am currently working on a CD of my own through using software loops. I play NO instruments but will learn Piano one day. I am trying to save up for a drum machine right now.. and this is just the tip of the iceberg. not enough room to post ALL of what music means to me. It is my ultimate love(even more than my soon to be wife   j/k)
so that's me. 8)
btw: if you are looking for something REALLY REALLY GOOD... try CeeLo Green's ...is the soul machine. EVEN IF YOU DONT LIKE HIPHOP, this album is unbelievably good.
edit:... how in the world could I have forgotten, Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Led Zepplin, The Doors, and Jimmy Hendrix.. ops:
oh and I hate POP. down with American Idol-that show sucks!! :P

Im definately on the other end of the spectrum.
Mostly punk for me.
Unwritten Law, Pennywise, NOFX, Less than Jake, The Unseen, AFI, Lagwagon, Sublime, 7 Seconds, Orange 9mm, NiN, Coheed and Cambria, Avenged Sevenfold, Face to Face, amongst many others.
Throw in a bit of Rage Against the Machine, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, Smashing Pumpkins (the early stuff), and Linkin Park for some variety, and a day in Prepress just seems to fly by.
(yeah, I know some of will read this and ask yourself, "who in the hell are most of these bands?!" )

how about Guttermouth?.. I like them. I just didnt list any punk because its not my favorite. ...but it is my girls favorite and we have been to 3 different warped tours now...
..and I should have mentioned Rage and Alice in Chains they both were truly great.
as for metal. Metallica "One" greatest metal song ever.
zimmy.. how'd ya like the Primus show? Les Claypool, IMHO, is the best, most technically talented, bassist on the planet right now...
I have seen Primus well over thirty times and he still amazes me everytime.
cheers for a great friday discussion.

The last show I saw was Queensryche, they did Mindcrime all the way through with props and actors, it was pretty cool.
I also saw Pink Floyd outdoors in Wisconsin, it was raining all day and then the fog settled in which made the laser show incredible.
