I can't remember my first concert but I have a sneaking feeling it may have been Cliff Richard. It was a school trip, honest!

I do remember the first single I bought was Olivia Newton John and John Travolta - 'You're the One that I Want' ops:

Let's move on shall we?

Heard of DREAD ZEPPELIN

Went to see HUGH REED AND THE VELVET UNDERPANTS which turned into a water fight with the crowd - great fun

Anyone heard of HAYSEED DIXIE ?

Say "HAYSEED DIXIE" real fast a few times. What's it sound like?

Yep AC/DC.

These country hicks play AC/DC songs with a twang, bluegrass style.
They're a riot and really good musicians!
I get to see em here again on the 10th next month.

speaking of cover bands---> Dark Star Orchestra. they do full repeats of entire Dead shows. These guys amaze me. I've only seen them twice, but if you close your eyes, it really seems like you are at a Dead show and Jerry is wailing.

...and for bluegrass, I like Hot Tuna, McGraw Gap(Larry Keel's first band, no longer together) and Acoustic Syndicate(also no longer together but reunite to jam sometimes).. the mountains of North Carolina where I went to school is a hotbed for GREAT bluegrass.

:P

I don't believe I read it but you guys don't have Dave Matthews in your list at all. I think....

I stopped remembering after about page 3.

My first concert was a Creed concert that I won tickets too, cause I refused to buy them after they cancelled their first concert.

You guys have really good tastes in music...

but i don't see whats wrong with James blunt.... he's got a gorgeous voice.... 8O 8O 8O

I actually hate his music but I work with 4 other women here and I hear it atleast once if not 2 times a day.

my first concert was
My Bloody Valentine, Dinosaur Jnr, Blur and Jesus & Mary Chain all touring together. My ears bled with joy

thanks for the Luther Wright & The Wrongs suggestion.
That would be an ideal present for my dad

He has been playing the banjo and listening to floyd for years.
I would never thought it possible to marry the two :?
