I saw Phish in Raleigh NC in 97' at an amphitheater style venue, it starting lightning/downpouring during the 2nd set, right down on top of us. bolts right into the crowd. 3 people were actually struck that night. there were mudslides down the lawn, and everyone was dringed, muddy, and "x"ed out, so much fun!!! I'll never forget it. :P then there's the one show in charlotte, same lollapalooza with Primus that you speak of, that I spent the whole night walking around the crowd chanting that Les Claypool was the next Messiah. Man, did I piss some people off that night. especially those who knew me and were embarrassed. "damn saps"... I like to cause a "scene" every now and again just to see who's paying attention. ...and no I was not on any drugs that night, surprisingly.

and then at another show, the blonde dude in 311, sat down with my group of like 20 buddies and started "helping" us with the doobs that were going around...

..good times, man, youre going to get me all choked up cause I miss those times and my buddies SOOO much.. alas Im now in the "real world" and I chose prepress of all places to settle down.

Guttermouth is definatley on the list. Youth Brigade, Mustard Plug, 30ft Fall, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Sprung Monkey, No use for a Name... I could go on and on. BAD RELIGION and Descendants. Crap, cant forget those guys. I still have flyers from the first ever warped tour in FL. I remember Brad from Sublime just walking around and BSing with everyone and being able to bring your own board and skate around.

Ive hung out with alot of bands I mentioned. Most memorable moment is being on stage with Pennywise after hanging out all night backstage and drinking (i was only 17 8O) and Jason Thirsk the former bassist took of his bass and slung it around my neck and said "here, play." At the time I was in my own punk band with friends, so the experience was to good to be true.

Been shopping for guitars with Unwritten Law, that was a moment as well. Hanging out on the tour bus with Blink before they had to change their name to Blink182 over legal issues and then became mainstream sellouts. Had a mulch fight with Noodles from Offspring before they became lame sellouts as well.

Smashing Pumpkins... a good show, but it was when they had some accidents at their concerts with people getting hurt and changed their format to sit down concerts... man I was pissed off. Everyone just stood on their folding chairs that were bolted to the floor. Heh.

Id pay good money to go back and be 17 again.

the smashing pumpkins were an a amazing band there for a while...i was a big fan. but somewhere they went wrong in my opinion. they lost the hard rock edge they had early and started making soft pop-rock radio hits, and then worse than that they went techno. they lost me at that point.

still...i love the early/mid-90s alternative, and a lot of good stuff out there now, too.

After the Infinite Sadness, which was a 50/50 of good and bad, the Pumpkins lost me. Siamese Dream still stands as their best work IMHO, Gish not far behind.

It was not to long ago I read that Corgan was putting out ads and whatnot to convince James, D'arcy and Jimmy to come back and go back to the old stuff. I see that happening

gish and siamese dream were awesome...infinite was a whole lot of crap crammed into a 2-disk set. there are some good songs spinkled in there though, so it wasnt a complete waste. adore was a complete waste. gish is my altime fave, particularly "siva" and "bury me".

big fan of the dandy warhols, they are my favorite current group. seen them a number of times, very good live show, they like to jam.

I love Pumpkins,I got hooked when their 1st cd came out.
Saw'em live 3 times and thought they're a much better studio band.
Could never hear billy's voice that well in concert,he can't sing softly
live, like in a studio.

Hey Rickyp,
how about GOMEZ? They're UK boys.
They are awesome sounding. Caughtem 4 times over here last few years
and there comin back this year.
