Mystery Monday

Ok, this is a new on for me...

Got a job Friday afternoon, and started working on it today. 70+ page
auction catalog all set up in ID CS. Everythhing looks like it going to work
fine. I go and check the document size to make sure the work order has
been written up right, and what do I find?

http://www.prepressforums.com/module...croCatalog.pdf

This thing is small enough to be used by Liliputions!! The mystery to me is how
you'd actually be able to set this up, and typeset it without seeing that you are
using a .25 point font. On the up side, all the lo res graphics look great when
output

Oh wow, dumbass of the year award!

In the shop I used to work at the atmosphere was a bit light than most shops the boss never really got upset unless it was a MAJOR screwup. He'd just spout about and say WHAT A DUMB ASS! and give you the honorary title of dumbass for the rest of the day.

I shudder to think what he might say about this one!

Oh my...that is riich. You have to admit though, it makes for much smaller file sizes. Did it come in on a floppy?

Nope. We got it via the email. Interestingly enough it was still a few megs because
all the linked images were at 100%.

InDesign sometimes defaults to points or picas, they probably set their dimentions thinking it was inches, 6picas to the inch, this would explain the small document size. However, setting type in 25pt and not questioning why would put one in the running for a Darwin award.

OK, leave it on your desktop and fill thimbles with skim milk, and put a few cheese puffs on some bottle caps -arange it by your mouse & leave for the night and I bet the job will be done in the morning!
