Saturday Night Live Question

One saturday nite (in April or May or thereabouts) while I was working on a clients files, I happend to catch snippets of SNL out of the corner of my eye...When the musical guest came on, I realized that the song they were playing was one that I heard on the radio days before, and I really liked it. HERE'S THE CATCH: I didn't catch the name of the band OR the song. I don't know the words and can't remember anything about it other than there was a guy in a jumpsuit on the left side of the stage doing some kind of robot-type dance. He wasn't singing or playing an instrument, just the silly jumping-around-robot-thing.

I've searched high and low on the internet, the SNL (NBC) website and wikipedia to no avail, that's when I decided to come to the place where the smartest, hardest-working, best looking people on the net can be found! The Lounge @ PREPRESS FORUMS!

Thanks in advance to anyone providing information pointing to the band or song!!!

I didn't see the show but the first thing that jumped to mind is the band "Gorrillaz". They have a hit song that's climbing the charts.

I don't think Gorrillaz do live. I think there's only three members.

Thanks for the tips, I've checked them all out and none seem to be the right one....If I could only remember the Host, that would make it easy!

if you check the nbc website, which you did, it lists all the guests that they have had this year.
the problem with that is they sometimes run reruns. so checking the website for guests/musical acts in apriil or may will not necessarily list all the shows that they ran in those months, only the shows that were new.

if that show was a repeat, it was probably from this past season. your mystery musical guest may have actually aired in october (eminem) or january (the killers).

the only thing that i can suggest for you to get help from others here is to let us know what type of song it was. was it rap, rock, was it a female singer, male singer, white guy, etc.

there is only two shows that are listed on their website for march. the other weekends in march were probably the reruns.

odds are that the show is from sometime this year. they don't normally tend to run repeats from past years, that is for the E channel and comedy central. sometimes they run shows from past years, but those are normally when they do a "best of" or something like that.

Make an MP3 of yourself singing the song and upload it so we can all listen to it. Someone will know it. If not, at least we'llget a kick out of listening to you mangle a song!

LOL, I'm sure you'd all get a kick out of my demo single! However, if I knew the words, I'd ask my coworker what the song is and she'd say "Oh, that's so-and-so." ....From memory again, I think it was 3 white guys in the band, and Mr. Jumpsuit on the side. I have one report from a friend of a friend that they saw the show and remember jumpsuit guy, buy that's it. So at least I know I was not dreaming!
