prepress "brilliance" and outsourcing

http://www.prepressforums.com/module...248&star t=15

Since cory decided no one else would contribute anything of value to that thread, here's my 2 cents in a new thread. Lock as needed.

prepress "brilliance" said ""Should I just quit my job now and let you pakistanis and indians have it?, ......... Here please take the shirt off my back"

1. Don't rail against foreign workers taking jobs unless you buy American. More jobs have been lost in the textile industry than in printing. The shirt off you back is likely an import.
2. Where do you stand on NAFTA? Tariffs? US companies going offshore for tax benefits? As long as it's easy and cheap to export jobs, companies will. Did you consider this before you voted last year? Do you consider this before shopping?
3. "you pakistanis..." Grow up. That's a crude racist way to put it. If you just don't like Asians, say so. The contempt in your post was obvious, as was the dearth of any reasonable view of outsourcing. The problem is just "you pakistanis and indians." Guess you just miss the good old days when printing was the exclusive domain of Quality White Folks.

Man, even after apologizing and attempting to correct myself, I still am getting kicked around. Even my fiance who understands my personality and sense of humor said "damn baby you probably shouldn't have said it that way." I realize my error. But to be placed in a class of pathetic ignorance, which I certainly am not, really lit my fuse, so I bucked back. Honestly I felt as if Bart used my comment as a reason to take a stab at americans, and yet we do not call him racist. Let's all just let it go and not have animosity in a place where the object is to gain knowledge and help in the prepress business. COOL?

I don't know where you got that photo, but for a modest fee I will run around the city on fire holding up a banner advertising your business too. (For a few bucks more I may even do it naked and really get some attention).

To get on my waiting list or for more info PM me.

(let's see them try to outsource this job!!!)

I 've been EXTREMELY busy at work lately and to boot my platesetter's gripper motor died. (fixed in 1 1/2 business days) Needless to say I haven't been surfing PPF as normal, hate I missed-out on this thread!

_43 gotta watch those lips buddy > some folks are REAL touchy! Me personally I couldn't care any less about your comments, if I don't like what I am reading I'll stop reading it!!! Easy solution huh? As stated before FREEDOM (key word) of speech.

Crude? Perhaps. Rude? Probably. Racist? That's a stretch. Besides, Pakistani is a nationality and not a race, anyway.

I think people need to lighten up. The guy apologized for any unintended offense. Let's get back to discussing prepress issues.
