If we weren't making a move to stamp out the terrorists, do you think it would have stopped at 9-11?

Iraqis ARE people and my heart bleeds for the truly INNOCENT victims, but we could not have just ignored the problem any longer.

...and I have heard that there are women and children contributing to the insurgences, so how the hell are our men supposed to be able to tell the difference between someone who will allow our soldiers to help them and those that will blow themselves up once close enough.:?

Just because they are women and children does not make them innocent.

There is NO LINK between 9/11 and Iraq. Those guys were from Saudi Arabi, remember?

What's are you implying? Kill 'em all and let God sort it out? :x

No where did you get that from. I agree that what we as civilians know is there is no link, but there was definately some safe-haven there for terrorists. What about all of Sadaam's OWN people he killed. Are you saying what he was doing was OKAY?...

Some of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudi by nationality - trained in Afganistan and other terrorist freindly countries - possibly Syria and Iraq.

You can say there is no link between 9/11 and Iraq - in a way that is true. Iraq did not directly aid in that specific attack, so in that sense you are right. HOWEVER, Iraq had trained al qaida terrorists in chemical warfare, and top Iraqi officials had been in contact with top al qaida officials for several years. The independent 9/11 commission came to that conclusion a while back (with the benefit of hindsight I might add). http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5223932/

So you have a brutal dictator who has used WMD's to kill hundreds of thousands of his own people, who has been contacted on several occasions by al qaida - who had just killed thousands of Americans in a coordinated attack on our own soil, and the logic people try to use now is that Iraq was never really a threat! Give me a break!!!

If you think that Sadam Hussain left to control his own country with his hatred of America "the great satan" would never cooperate with the terrorists (some of whom trained in his country) to attempt another attack on America - you're living in a dream world. He had weapons of mass destruction (and used them more than once), and he had mobile laboratories that could rapidly produce a lot more chemical and biological weapons on short notice, and he had terrorist training camps in his country.

If you stand by the "NO LINK between 9/11 and Iraq" motto, all I can say is that in a matter of time there would be a link between Iraq and some other infamous date that would have been many times worse than 9/11. Personally I think we were wise to NOT WAIT until an attack that claimed tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of American citizens. Not that a large scale terrorist attack couldn't still happen, but I for one am very thankful to our leaders - Democrats and Republicans and ALL OF OUR MILITARY men and women for taking steps to prevent such an event - so far.

Now, I have some prepress work to do, but thank you Matt for providing a "Lounge" for us to hang out around the perverbial "water cooler" and talk some politics. If anyone wants to REALLY open a can of worms, we could talk religion also... (or not).

ALERT!, I'd be careful if I were you guys, a few years ago I was heavily involved in a post on macdesignonline with a similar topic to this one and the "powers that be" shut it down and then changed the whole sites user policy. Freedom of Speech?. What exactly are we defending?!?

Who said Illuminati?

I said Illuminati and I believe I mentioned they are all free-masons, if I didn't then THEY ARE ALL FREE MASONS. A history review of the masons will allow you to see that in the beginning the masons constructed a plan to eventually control all of the world's "economics" which is exactly what is being put into place by current day Illuminati. A one world currency is right around the corner. What's the best way to control economics?

...yer politicians(some of which are illuminati) sneaking legislation in, that benefits business owners of the major global corporations(The big 7) while also passing laws that limit the people's financial benefit and powers. How do you get people to go along with yer "proposed solution"(ie. homeland security), create havoc. Bush and others alterior motive, or dare I say their "rightschtag".

I am not against or for my govt, nor am I inciting riot by my comments, I merely am stating from research, my perception of the FACTS that I have found.

For those interested in these types of discussions and topics> a good movie to see> that is about "revelations" without being too churchy is called Left Behind with Kirk Cameron.

God Bless us all when the proverbial shit hits the fan.

try Tomb Raider the film aswell, that's got an interesting insight into the Illuminati!, . . . erhem.
(sorry, it's the lowest form of wit, isn't it)

Not a big believer in conspiracies myself, though I DO believe in major security f***-ups being covered up and professionally bullshitted about.

I think you may overestimate the intelligence of the higher echelons of this and many other societies.

P.S. I loved Team America!

I'd rather that than under estimate them and be surprised when they somehow have ruined us./
