A little test

I just spent the last hour or so trying to figure out why the 1st paragraph in this second column on this indesign file is indented....

First person to figure it out gets ummm....a cookie?

It's because the text container isn't completely straight. Select it with the direct selection tool and grab the upper left corner of the box and move it up until the top line is perfectly straight and the text will jump back to left aligned like it should be.

It took me awhile too the first time I encountered it. Since then it's the first thing I look for if text isn't flowing like it should. I've also found that it can be a handy feature at times too...

the reason it's indented is because it isn't flush left.

Cory if you had the "Hide Frame Edges" (cmnd+H) on when you opened the document the problem is very obvious. The text frame was not square (or rectangular) as soon as I opened it I saw this, and knew I had to make the box Square.
