I saw this was re-listed today. I met with the owner for this job earlier in the year. Things did not work out for us, but it is a great opportunity and a nice shop. Owner is a good guy too.
Prepress Technician
Full time position available for prepress technician in a mid-sized, fast paced print shop located on the North Shore. Proficiency with both mac and pc formats required, along with familiarity of the following software: adobe acrobat, illustrator , indesign, pagemaker, photoshop, Microsoft office suite, freehand and quark express. The workload is 80% preparing files for digital proofing and ctp using the rampage workflow and 20% desktop publishing.
In addition to preparing files for press, this position requires a strong knowledge of imposition, digital scanning and color correction. Other duties include maintaining and filing prepress electronic files and layouts, keeping equipment running by following operating instructions, troubleshooting and calling for help and or repairs. Ideal candidates update knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications. Other skills required include: organizational skills, quality focus, attention to detail, deadline-orientation and communication with clients and employees.
