Plating Fails to Start..

(( Not sure if this should go in here or Computer to Plate. Mods please move if this is incorrect. ))

Our platemaker is trying to plate a 6up layout and receives the following error: ( he has tried outputting them all and one at a time, same results )
being the Trendsetter spits the plate back out.

=====================END========================

The layout was created using Pandora v2.8.0 (build 515)

I can only recall one other time we had the Trendsetter 800 II Quantium
not plate a layout and it was with an 18 up Cig pack layout. I was not there to see how it was resolved and the person who was is on Holidays for another 4 days.

The file within the layout is a De-screened DCS file, 4 colours (3 spots and Black)
Placed in Quark 6.5 and output to a Postscript.
.
Run through Workshop and Virtual Proofed .
All looks and Seps fine.
(no major errors when refined)

I have re done a layout and received the same results when trying to plate this job.

Perhaps creating an entirely new job folder and re running the file through workshop again ?

Any Ideas ??

Thanks

C2C

Excuse my lack of knowledge but I havent a clue how to do so

Care to elaborate on How to do so and Why ?

My expertise goes as far as: Heres the file from the scanner. Its a DCS file. You know what to do.
(then place in Quark, Postscript, run through Workshop, Proof then Layout)

I have given thought to opening the DCS in Photoshop, saving as a PSD and placing this in Illy / dropping in our dieline, Save as EPS / Run through WorkShop / V Proof / Layout. but the file is over a year old and Im trying not to mess with it *yet*

Thank you

C2C

I helped set up the process templates during startup assistance, but here's the gist of it:
You'll need to make a new process template (duplicate your normal one?) and change the FILE FORMAT portion to:
LZW
Advanced Tiff tags

(I appologize if this is incomplete or too vague, we set this up w/ help of Creo tech and haven't had to dickaround with it)

Clueless

Are you talking within Workshop dupe the process template ? and then change those mentioned settings?

If so I have never been erm... allowed to change ANY settings.
In fact, I dont think anyone here knows how to do so correctly either, The 'Creo Man' gets to come in if it needs to be altered, which has not occured since this was installed (2? years ago, before I started here anyhow)

Ive been told not even to open them in fear something may get changed

(sometimes I feel so clueless..., and the more I ask WHY are these settings setup this way and WHAT do they do? the more I get : I dont know, they were setup by Creo )

Thanks for take the time to reply tho!

Ill just tell them to skip it since we cant plate it :P and let the Lead Hand call someone when she gets back from VAC.

FYI:
We "limit" access here, just 3 of us that have the privilledge level of changing JTPs... but we allow all operators to change settings on the per-job basis. This made for a lot more training and stuff, but we're able to handle more junk on the fly.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Could you explain how you set up your limited access?
I've been wanting to do this.

C2C
Sorry to hijack your thread.
For me Limitcheck errors have allways been very complex vector files. (that damn pattern feature in Illustrator) Usually I'm able to simplify the file but it sounds like your dealing with a different animal. Have you resolved it yet?

Can't remember the exact proceedure, Kodak tech did it during startup, but we have 2 different levels and keep others out w/ different ID and password. Should be a quick answer from support as to the proceedure to do it.
