Quark 6 DeviceN fun
Just curious if anyone has had this occur: An Illustrator EPS featuring a spot color with various tints is placed in a QX 6 document. Wrote my PostScript using DeviceN, then ripped on my PSM (same thing occurs on Brisque.) When I open the ripped file in Presstouch to inspect, all the PMS tints in the illustration have turned to 100% PMS.
I've seen it happen before, and my usual workaround is to save the QX file down to 5, then send it and everything is fine. On this particular job, that was not an option due to the use of dfonts throughout the piece, and I didn't have a Type 1 or even TT equivalent to swap. Eventually, resaving all the EPS fixed it, but I don't believe that gets to the root of the problem, as they separated fine from QX 5, which points to the ever-so-lovely Quark 6 as the culprit.
Just in case anyone was wondering, I did try to send As Is and also CMYK, but that didn't change anything except not holding spot TIFF images.
