New to Brisque

Hi guys, im currently moving from a Agfa workflow to a Brisque 5.0.61.6 workflow.

I got all this gear with no training so im kind of stuck at the moment with a few probs.

Well this is how it was setup b4 i moved all this stuff and dont really understand the whole setup. To print the job it is first sent to the Brisque 5 then from there it is copied by the operator to another Brisque ( thinks it v3) which is connected to the Dolev 800v. Then it is exposed from the Brisque 3.

im currently working on a mac os 10.4.8 and having troubles connecting to the brisque5.

Also i have gone thru all the Brisque software i was supplied with and cannot find a PPD anywhere.

I've read in previous posts that the later Mac os has trouble connecting due to the java update. Does this apply to me?

Appreciate any help.

Thanks

We just migrated to the Brisque v5.
We're still working out some bugs with the equipment. There shouldn't be any issues with the client running on your Mac, we're using it on Intel Macs even. Our client is version 5.1.32.0.
We've got a similar situation for our film where we copies files to another Brisque to output film. As far as PPD, I didn't see any either. We're using an older Brisque one.
I would talk to Kodak (if you have support) about dialing in and helping you get things configured, especially for connecting to the Brisque. We don't seem to have any problems with that.
Unfortunately that's all I have to offer right now.

Thanks pmkprog, i actually found the ppd for v5 for the mac but still having other probs, let me know if u need the ppd.
Tring to figure out as much as i can before logging a service call, supposely a 1month waiting list they got going on at the moment.
Is that a free update to the later version u got there, if so where can/how can i do that?

Thanks, much appreciated

The upgrade may be free. I would start with tech support and see where that gets you.

5.1 is not free update, unless you have service contract.

10.4.8 java updtae to 5 is a big problem. Go into applications/utilities/java/j2se 5.0/java prefrences and tell it to use 1.4.xx
That should do the trick.
