Removing Hot Folders
good day,
im having a bit of trouble removing hot folders using the brisque 5 mac client. it allows me to make a hot folder, but i cannot delete one. i am new to the brisque workflow, and ask if this is something i am doing wrong, or is there more to it than i think? i am simply selecting it in the file browser, but it does not give me th option to a) turn off the "heat", or b) delete altogether.
any thoughts? thanks in advance!

If I remember correctly only the person with admin permissions can make and remove hot folders.

thanks for the response.
well, i have the permission, and was easily able to make one, but for whatever reason it is not giving me the option of deleting it. when i try to remove it from the finder level on my mac, it says i dont have the permissions to remove it. from within the brisque itself, it doenst even give me the option of remving it. quite peculiar, especially since it was so easy to set up!

Chris,
Are you sure you are logged in as Admin?
Try to login as "administrator" and leave the password blank (it will only work in no one changed it before).
You can also check under Preferences if your user is Admin.

ricardo,
thank you for your reply.
yes, i am definitely logged in as admin, of that i am 100% sure. i click on the hot folder i want to remove and get the following message:
"brisque could not remove the hot folder or folder that contains the hot folder because hot folder limitation"
the folder no longer is showing me the hot folder icon, it simply appears as a normal folder.
any ideas?

Chris - I think now I got it.
You cannot delete Hot Folders using the File Browser. You need to de-activate them first. As a side note, you also cannot delete a template that is attached to a Hot Folder (inherited previleges).
Go under the Hot Folder Palette and delete it from there first (right-click, ctrl-click (Mac), or go under the pop-down arrow and delete it). This will de-activate it. It will then turn into a regular folder.
Now you can go to the File Browser and delete the regular folder from there.
In a nutshell, the Brisque creates an invisible .hotfolder file inside each folder that was turned into an HF, preventing you from deleting it the regular way.
Does it sound about right?
Thanks,
