Preps-Problems with Center Mark

We are having a problem with the center mark in Preps. The mark in the imposition is centered an .125 inch length and clearly on the sheet. However when we plate this same imposition it is not on the sheet but on the plate. Now I have pressmen complaining about the mark inking up on the press. I do not know why it doing this or how to fix it. Any suggestions?!?

You are talking about the center mark at the tail of the sheet right? In the template it's fine but when on press it's too far back to print in the sheet? Is there extra space at the gripper on the sheet? By how much are you off, and is this a new problem?

Most likely it isn't a Preps problem but the simple solution would be to make the sheet size of your template shorter(if possible) by a little bit more than the amount you are running off the sheet.

My guess is that your system is shifting the image up when it is plated. This "offset" should be set to give you the correct gripper for your press and in your case it sounds like the shift is too much.

Hope this helps,

-MC

If you are refering to the center punch mark-- just turn it off in preferences.
