Forcing traps in FAF?

OK, so in case this comes up again before I can get a replacement RIP in....

How can I FORCE FAF to make a trap between two colors?

Say, for the sake of Argument, in my example job, I took a 4/C run using PMS Red, PMS Yellow, PMS Blue, and Process Black, and pretended it was a straight 4/C Process job (red=m, y=y, blue=c, k=k).

Yellow (bkgrnd) won't choke into the red (type).. Played w/ ink strength, min. difference, etc.. couldn't get it to trap, so I did it in illustrator instead, but... There's GOT to be a combination of settings I can make in FAF to force that trap to happen, no?

Did you use PressTouch to build the trap? You can use PressTouch to build it and apply the trap or to build it and save the trap settings as a .fdl file that the Brisque will use as the trapping parameters. I'd tell you exactly how to do it, but it has been too many years since I taught PressTouch, FAF and Remake.

Sorry Matt, none of that fancy stuff.
Just me, my Mac, and a Brisque.

Download PressTouch and you can build custom traps.

Thanks Matt... I'll have to look into that.
I take it there's no cost w/ the software? Where can I get that? I didn't get a warm response from Kodak's support when I enquired about updates, and didn't have a "Customer Number" to give them.

oh... You're "one of those" un-anointed ones... Yeah, without a service contract it's unlikely that you will get first line support off the bat. It really should be reconsidered, you shouldn't NOT have at least have a basic service contract.

You should be able to sign up for a free eCentral account at https://ecentral.creo.com. I don't know why the whole session is SSL, but that's besides the point.

http://mattbeals.dyndns.org/creo/presstouch_1.2.5.sit in case you can't get signed up with eCentral.

Panther, I wasn't able to reproduce this issue, even using default settings. If you want, upload it and I can take a look at the Illustrator file and try it over here.

Thanks gig0.. but it's really not that important.
Hopefully the Presstouch software (or the Rampage I'm waiting to order) will take care of the issue, I just hate being 'stuck' like that (one reason I don't like FAF).

If you're really dying to see it, I can send you the file, but I don't want to see anyone work on it more than I have already.

No worries. I just didn't know how pressing this was for you.

So you're going Rampage now?
