Preps 4.2 and ADB-dongle

I run Preps 4.2 on MAC OSX10.2.6 and I have problems with Preps detecting my old ADB-dongle ... he is connected on a Imate and Preps don't like it. I have to launch my Preps 3 or 4 times before he can detect my dongle. I have Imate 1.5.3 installed. Anyone a sollutions for this???

When we upgraded for to preps 4, we were able to trade in our ADB dongle for a USB..I don't recall it being that expensive maybe $100..

Might want to see if you can pickup a USB version, I would imagine it will just get harder and harder for that adb dongle to work

I just switched from a pc to a mac (os9.2) usb dongle. The cost was only $150-US plus the price to send the old one back ($40 something-int'l w/insurance) You can also check out the creo site for i-key software that might have been updated.

ADB hardware keys and OS-X...

The iMate does not work very well with ADB keys on OS X 10.2 and above.
Apple changed the OS so that th iMate just can't correctly access the ADB keys correctly most of the time. Griffen has given up on this driver and does not plan on having a new one (ever).

They did work with OS-X 10.1.5, but that was it.

I would suggest getting a USB hardware key, as the ADB keys will never work in OS-X.

Note: I should know, I was on the Preps development team until last month when they started to close down the Seattle office and mve development to Canada. This put me out of work, and the job market for prepress in Seattle is not very good right now.

Raybo! Oh no! Say it a'int so! You have been such a tremendous help to me in the past (I used to own Seamless Graphics, Inc. in Memphis, TN).. Creo has made a poor decision in my opinion, but kinda what I expected when they acquired Scenicsoft..

I wish you only the best, my man..
