How to angle layouts in Preps?

Anyone know what is the easiest way to angle a layout in Preps. I need to take both work and turn and Sheetwise forms and angle to entire sheet inducing marks, color bars, content etc. 1.5 degrees. I am using Preps 5.1.5 on OSX.

Thanks in advance for the help,

Dub

If you open a template and select all marks and pages you can rotate them by selecting "Modify Template Page" + "Modify Page Bottling" from the "Template" menu. That is as close as I can get you there.

Be aware though: If you're going to a Brisque RIP, it will ignore any angle settings in Preps! Why, I have no idea, just that all the angled layouts we do have to be done in the native app.

Thanks for the tips, we are on a Nexus workflow. I tried the "Modify Template Page" + "Modify Page Bottling" from the "Template" menu but it angles each page individually and what the press is looking for is to have the entire sheet baseline angled with all marks etc.

I am going to try to have Nexus rotate the 1-bit tiff when it generates it. Or I will try to do the same at the Print Console workstation when we output the plates.

Thanks,
Dub

Silly question... why are you having to angle everything on the sheet??

It is just this job in particualr.. due to the design of the catalog, we need to angle it to prevent mechanical ghosting on the sheet of certain images.

I think Nexus will only angle it in 90 degree increments.

When you tried the "Modify Template Page" + "Modify Page Bottling" from the "Template" menu did you have all the marks and pages on the template selected? It looked to me in Preps when I tried that that it rotated everything, including the marks.

This is called cocking on the sheet. There is a charge to unlock this feature (Flat Rotation) in Prinergy. I assume it is the same for Brisque. It's not cheap either.

We do this on a job by job basis, manually in the Application.

Good Luck

Correct, Nexus will only go 90,180,270,0 just like the CRI. I am trying to feed the PS thru and Import workflow now and rotate in Nexus Edit. Hopefully it will work out.

Did you try to save PDF/EPS - Single side - from Preps
Import into Quark/Illustrator/IDS, rotate and
send to the Nexus?
