Preps 4.2.2 Automatic Marks?

I don't believe the Smart Marks are in anything before 5.1?

I keep a set of "base templates" - One template for each sheet size and run style that we do. All the marks are on each template - easier to delete unneeded ones than to add them.

After I made the base templates, I did a Get Info (Mac only) on each one and clicked on "Sationery Pad" so that it cannot be overwritten - if you hit "Save", it will force you to do a "Save as" instead.

My understanding is tha Smartmarks only comes in version 5.x and does not handle colorbars or targets...

Smart marks are available in Preps 5.0 and above.

Smart Marks allow you to dynamicaly add any mark to your page, including colorbars.

Example:
Lets say you have a colorbar you want .125" away from the tail of the Press Sheet and .25" from the left and right side. If you change the Press Sheet size the mark changes it's size and position to match.

Smart Marks work by saving settings for a particular mark. Then you can call out your Smart Mark on the fly.

Another nice feature is Smart Mark Groups. This allows you to place all of your individual smart marks on your press sheet at once.
