Changing Cyan to a pms color

Hi,

We are using Preps 5.1.2. We have some customers sending us 2 color files (quark, pdf, ps, and eps) specked as black and cyan but will be printing black and pms. We send files from a mac thru Nexus 8.1 rev3 and preps sends it to our hp printers. Is it posible at preps to change the cyan plate to a pms so the proof comes out the color the customer wants to print?

Thanks, Dauby

My experience is that it is easier to change one pms to another pms or change a pms to a process color. However, changing a process color to a spot may be tricky. Access your color software that you use on your color printers and bring up the colors used in a particular ripped signature. Click the cyan and see if you can over ride the cyan name and type in a pms color. I can change spot colors on my color proofer but not cmyk.

Remap the color in the PDF using PitStop.

Leave the cyan as is. For the text mark in Preps, type the PMS color in cyan.
