Need help - strange moire on Brisque

We have Brisque 3 L2 RIP, Dolev4Press imegesetter and a PROBLEM with them.

We tried using different angle sets, dot shapes, frequency, etc. but we keep on getting this strange moire on film. It seems to be only when we put the Y film, while the CMK looks fine. It is noticable on skin color when printed.

Any ideas why?

Had the same problem on a Brisque v3 a few years back. Same thing would also happen with certain hue's of wood furniture. I think we increased resolution and the line screen. Play around with those settings.

Try running that yellow on the cyan angle. Sounds strange but it works. I used to work for a large printer who ran 90% of their jobs doing just that.

We have tried all of this but didn't have much success. CMK are ok but when we put the Y sep. on top - moire becomes visible.

There is one strange thing
Some customers deliver theier files to us with pictures in EPS DCS 1.0 format and those prints look great, but when Brisque do the separation it's no good.

We the same problem when we had our Brisque, off the top of my head, try an elliptical dot with conventional angles, or try swapping the yellow as mentioned above. The morire has to do with the angles the Brisque sets up as default.

We are using class screen sets. Usually 150lpi, 10dpm, conventional angles and composed dot shape. We don't have TSP board. But, we tried all angles, dot shapes, ... everything.

also try outputing your yellow at a higher line screen...say 175 or 200. We used to use 200 and it worked pretty good.
