File Names in Run List

I'm having a little bit of a situation with preps. I'm on Version 5.1, (but I did have this on earlier versions. I'm running Artworks, and when I put my link files into a preps run list, the names are being trunkated to the point that I can't see what the name is. All I see is the first 5 characters, then a few periods, then a 001.eps.

Does anyone know how I could possible make thes area larger so that I could see what the whole file name is.

this is in both the run list and the file list.

Thanks.

Dave

When I used preps 5 I had to change my naming conventions to be shorter also, due to truncation. Creo didn't have a fix for it at the time 5.0.

I don't know of a way to beable to see the name right in the run list.

But, You can get info on the file in either the File List or the Run List and it will show you the full file name.

In Nexus you could also specify a maximum file name length in your "Edit Template" within your workflow or use less variable names in the "Edit Template"

Shortening the name isn't really an option. We're doing some automated stuff with moving files all over the place, so my file names are already 7 characters to begin with before I even get into identifying lot's, pages, or anything else.

I guess I could just try to do the "info" thing, but it just seems such a waste of time. Especially on larger projects.

You could also add the Files to your file list in the order you want them in your Run List. Then you can check the Box "Add Files to Run List". This might save you some time.
