FAF/PressTouch Dongle

Is it possible to use the MicroGuard USB dongle in Mac OS X? I can only find a driver for OS 9? Anyone else have any luck?

If you cant, presstouch is not dongle crippled. Rip your job without FAF first then use presstouch. Then run file through FAF on your Brisque.

When I worked with a brisque workflow I never FAF if I know I needed to presstouch the LW. The LW gets very complex in Presstouch after FAF.

The problem is- even though we have the same parameters set- Press Touch does a better job trapping spots. For some reason right now the Brisque is outlining type and eps files in black.... But PressTouch does not.

The old OS 9 dongles DO NOT WORK.
You have to pay CREO for a upgrade to a new OS X dongle.

It's another way of CREO screwing the customer for something that should be a free upgrade.

another way around this is to save your decisions as a .fdl file in the same location as the lw, then you can faf the file at the brisque. just check the "use embedded fdl file" which is under the general tab after opening the faf dialog box (double clicking on the faf icon).

hope this helps

Sounds like they have some settings wrong if spots aren't trapping right.

Yea, they'll exchange it, for $150. Why should we have to pay for something we already have? Its an exchange.
