Brisque seeing the Mac
Using Brisque V 4.0, Mac OSX.
I have my G4's and G5's hooked up through a 3Com Gigabit Switch.
I can print to the Brisque from any Mac application fine. I can access files on the Brisque from any Mac fine without any problems.
I would like to have the Brisque be able to see back to the Macs to be able to print APR out of Quark, select the correct Hi-Res folder and so forth.
Right now when I'm at the Brisque I can't see back to the Macs.
Any ideas?

Brisque 4.0??? You need 4.1.76.x! Get the upgrade! No, of course you cannot see the Mac from the Brisque. It, the Brisque has no idea how to out of the box. You would be better served to put the high res files on the Brisque in a hi res images folder (something like "hi_res_images"). Why would you want to peek at the Mac? Is the Quark OPI Xtension giving you headaches at the preflight/RIP atom?
But if you really want to know, I can see if I can dig up my instructions that I've posted several times to the Brisque mailing list that the CUA hosts. Let me know if you don't have access to them (eCentral account and or a CUA membership).

Actually I'm using Brisque version 4.0.97.0.
I would be nice to be able to print out of Quark using Print APR. Then make sure that the Brisque is looking on my Mac folders to see the support.
I'm currently working at a new place this year, but the last place I worked at we could navigate from the Brisque to the support folder of the particular job back on the Mac.
Now that I'm working at the new place this year, I just can't see the Mac folders and wondered if there was an easy way to set this up.
I don't want to have to copy over Hi-res images to a particular folder if I don't have to. Therefore, I'm not printing APR, I'm just printing over the whole postscript, which can take a while if the document has alot of pages.
I do have access to the eCentral account, but haven't found any luck info there yet.

Get the 4.1 upgrade, it's worth it.
Setup a hot folder (translate) on the Brisque to make the .e files. You really don't want the Brisque going out to look for the images. It is better to either have them on the Brisque, or another OPI server, or print fat postscript. Going back to the workstation can be bad voodoo for a number of different reasons. Having the Brisque create the .e files is much more efficient, it keeps the hi res images in a central location and you only have to copy them once over the network. But here's the info for you from an old Brisque forum posting I made:

Brisque 5
Dude! Get Brisque 5!
You will not ever have to get up from the Mac exept to set up
the Creo cells and to laminate.
And you should have someone do that for you.
