Qxd 6 w/reg marks and Preps problem

Our workflow is a separated qxd ps file (with reg marks on) brought into preps than preps ps to our allegro rip. All was well for years with OS9 versions of qxd. Now with quark 6 reg marks on then into either Preps 4.2 or 5 and output to our allegro rip, it will fail (undefined;Offending command: sc). Also recieve the same message if I attempted to distill the preps ps file. I can take the separated qxd 6 ps alone and pass it directly to the allegro, it processes fine. I've contacted creo and they've acknowledged its a bug but no resolution yet. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced a simular issue.

Have you tried using the old Scenicsoft device independant PPD to write the postscript directly from Quark?
