oh my, no manual

iv'e recently moved to a new company, and they have preps, 4.2.2, works fine in classic so far. and iv'e been a preps user for 5 years now with one company, and its been 5 years since i made a new printer. and chit it escapes me. i cant find the manual, among other things, so my question is this, how do i set up a printer thats not on appletalk, all i need it for is appropiate postscripting. but i have found a work around, they have a iris printer still in there, so i choose iris 3447ao and center my PS file, pdf, center on quark to correct page size, PS file, and im done, if a fellow prepress brotha can help a brotha out that would be " a todo madre". in english m****f***** great. it would gain me atleast an hour a day...=\

muchos gracias in advance.

If you have a PPD you want to add to Preps, you can copy it in manually.
The name of the PPD file must end in .ppd and contain no special
characters.
To add a PPD or PPX file to Preps:
In Macintosh Finder or Windows Explorer, drag or copy the PPD or
PPX file into the PPD folder located at Preps 4.x:Printerspd.
The new PPD is available the next time you click Add Device in the Device
* Preps User Manual Ch 5. Pg 40.

Then select Setup > Device Setup > Add Device

The Ppd for the target device will now be available from the listing.

Configure the device to your setup.

Select the new target printer and print the job to "File" as oppposed to "Printer"

Ps. The PREPS user manual is available from the CREO website.

thanks matmac, i did find the manuals off the cd last night, i was doing it right, but the ppd i was trying to use was bad, when i opened it it had generic postscript printer as name in it, so when i went to add a printer, i saw 2 generic printers. got correct ppd, and works like a charm now. funny.
