This is an excellent oppturnity to get the industry standard imposition software at a great price. Even if you factor in the upgrade cost you will still save over $2,000 per package compared purchasing from Creo.
I checked with Creo to get current pricing information and here is what they quoted:

Upgrade Pricing to go from Preps 3.7 to 4.2

The dongles that came with Preps 3.7 are a ADB type dongle, newer Mac?s (G4?s and above) no longer have ADB ports there are two ways to address this. The first is to purchase an i-mate adapter from Griffen technologies that converts ADB to USB, this adapter runs $39 and works great?.. this is what I did at when using this software. The other option is to upgrade the dongle from ADB to USB this would run $150 per dongle but also requires you upgrade to 4.2 at the same time.
I purchased this software from the printing company I worked for for the past 10 years during it's liquidation sale this past March. The company filed for bankruptcy after 42 years in business and was an early adopter of CTP. In fact the company had Creo's first Platemaster workflow ever installed and the 17th platesetter off the production line.
