It seems that some folks might be confused with the question at hand. I believe this is strictly pertaining to copying or dragging elements directly out of Photoshop or Illy and pasting or dropping directly into an Indy doc. The idea of dragging a file from the finder or desktop to an open Indy doc is different all together and in my experience and not really an issue unless you want to access the import options for the given format. However, copy/paste - drag/drop from Illy or Photoshop directly to Indy is a big no-no for the most part.
It can cause linking issues, editability issues, color issues, flattening issues, headaches, nausea, sleeplessness, irritability, violent behavior, rickets, the bends and last but not least spontaneous combustion.
I'm sure there are special situations in which it would work out okay.... It'd depend on your desired output etc. I mean, the integration is there for a reason but if you don't know how to do it right (and for the right reasons) then don't do it. Stop being a little baby, link the files correctly (place them), shut your mouth, do your job and leave me alone!
