Plugin Recommended?

I am trying to look around for some recommended plug-ins or software.
I currently am using Design Merge Pro, from Meadows publishing in Quark, but
as we are not planning on upgrading to Q7 we are now starting to look at
something for InDesign.
Anyone doing ticket numbering, mail merges, and personalization work have
anything else to recommend?
I had looked at Udirect's XMPie a few years back and will probably check on
them again, but we aren't really going to be swinging a $2500 price tag
either.
We have used the mail merge feature that comes with Indesign and it works
well with smaller stuff, but doesn't do Cut and Stack consecutive numbering,
and doesn't have many testing features (longest line tests, link tests etc)
Any help will be appreciated.

FusionPro is a decent alternative, I've got a version here that's not the most recent one, it's one step older I believe. I never liked the interface much, but apparently that's something they improved greatly in the latest one.

There's no demo, it's so cheap they don't provide a live demo it seems.

For cut and stack I like the Quite Imposing plugin for Acrobat. Not a ton
of bells and whistles, but I have it and it works. Setting up the numbering
is a snap.

I work in a small sized print and mail shop and i do all the number, mail merges, and vdp in indesign. It might ta ke a little getting used to but its fairly simple. We typically will number about 10000 smaller sized tickects or mail merges of about 15000. Sometimes we print the blanks on the 4 color press and just the text on the copier. You can do images and all that stuff in indesign as well granted it doesn't have have to much in bells and whistles but if you are doing basic stuff then it really might be all you need. Plus with fiery freeform the rip time gets cut down a bit.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I have looked at Fusion, and I wish they had a demo....
The cut and stack in Quite Imposing, I'm not sure they will spring for 550.00 plus the Fusion...
We do the same with the bigger jobs, running 4c on press, then imprinting on digital press. I guess everybody just does what they can, huh?
Thanks for the replies though.
