Font problem

Does anyone still using True type (TT) for designing?

I'm having problem loading up Rockwell in InDesign. Suitcase displays the font and describe it as a screen font, but InDesign opens up the file with a missing font every time. Although it is displaying the type on screen but will highlight the text as missing.

I have no time to test other TT fonts right now. Does this sound like a common problem for InDesign?

We've been using true type fonts for quite awhile now (as provided by our clients) with very little issue. On occassion the encoding will get scramble by our RIP turning '•' into '¥' and the sort, but for the most part we don't give it a second thought when provided truetype fonts.

Have you re-started your machine yet? I know you shouldn't have to, but occasionally that's the only way I can get a font to work properly.

you may need to clean your font caches out.
Do a Find for "adobefnt" files and delete all but the "*.db" files you find.

Sounds like you need "da fix". Go here:

http://www.linotype.com/fontexplorerX

Download, install, use its maintenance utilities under "Tools", try it as your font manager, [make sure Suitcase isn't running]. Free.
See how you go. FEX works well with InDes.
