Cannot Open File/Save File Error Code 3 & 4

a file i have worked with and archived over the years is now somehow damaged - every version, no matter when it was made

i get an error code of 3 or 4 (damaged file) when i try to open it or, if i can get it to open by renaming it and resetting permissions, then i try to save it and get the error

i have retrieved other files from the archive and they are not having this problem (archive system is Kodak Prinergy to AIT tape)

I have had luck with files that were mac indesign that had errors opening and saving by opening them in indesign on a pc saving it there and then opening the file on a pc. For some reason this has worked and saved me quite a few times. Hope it helps.

how many pages is it? if you can get it to successfully open, can you copy the content into a new document and save that?
